How to Communicate With a Dog That has Lost Hearing

About 6 months ago, I noticed that my dog Spaulding was quickly losing his hearing. Now, at almost 12 years old, he is about 90% deaf.

It can be challenging to communicate with your dog when they can't hear, and we are used to using words for obedience. In reality, and from personal experience, dogs communicate much better without words.

There are primarily 4 ways to communicate with a dog who is old and lost their hearing. Try this with your dog and let me know how it works.

Dogs respond best to:
1) Energy
2) Body Language
3) Hand Gestures
4) Eye Contact

In fact, it has been highly documented that only 7% of human communication are the actual words that are being said. the other 93% is voice tonality, body language, eye contact, and energy.
