Separation Anxiety Case - Louie

Louie has been suffering from severe separation anxiety. He was barking for 30 minutes after the owner left and would not calm down enough to stay still or lie down. He paced and stood at the door for another 30 minutes.

We already spent the first part of this session, and one other previous session to work through his triggers of owner getting her purse and keys.

This video shows the progress during our second session of treatment. In just 30 minutes with multiple rounds of leaving, we were able to stop his barking and he even laid down. A few more sessions of this treatment and he will be fine on his own for hours.

There is no quick fox for separation anxiety. It takes expert knowledge to treat along with patience and consistency. Essential tools for treatment are a camera, high value food rewards, Kong, toys, bed, and a very quiet peaceful environment.
